Have you ever considered that your struggles might be part of God’s perfect plan to strengthen and guide you? In this episode, I’m sharing 5 powerful shifts I made as a Christian woman that completely transformed my life. Together, we’ll explore scripture, real-life stories, and lessons that reveal God’s goodness in every step!
In the first part of this series, I shared the first two life-changing lessons God has taught me. Now, in Part 2, I’m excited to unpack the remaining five. These lessons have transformed my walk with Christ, and I pray they’ll bless and encourage you in yours.
So, grab your favorite coffee or tea, settle in, and let’s dive into these powerful truths!
*To recap I included Lessons 1 and 2! Epsidoe 236 is the first part and you can listen to it HERE.
I stopped believing the lie that I am my past and started believing in faith that God is writing my story and He has a perfect plan for me!
Maybe today is the day to look up from your past and draw a line in the sand. Say, “That is who I was, but I’m moving forward with God today. He is going to do a NEW THING!”
Isaiah 43:18 reminds us: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
Picture yourself turning the pages of your past and opening a fresh, blank page. Give yourself the chance to believe with hopeful expectation. Have confidence in God that allows you to “fail your way to success,” knowing He is with you every step of the way.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
I stopped allowing anyone but God to define me. His Word is my truth!
In today’s culture, you often hear people talking about “their truth.” It’s become a common phrase: “This is my truth.”But as Christians, we don’t measure ourselves by someone else’s truth—or even care what it is, to be honest. Our truth comes from God alone. Amen?
Take a moment to ask yourself:
The answer should always be Jesus. Only He has the authority to define you.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
I stopped seeking validation from others and started standing firm in God’s truth about who I am.
Navigating toxic relationships and rejection is one of the hardest things we face. When the world’s approval feels out of reach, remember this: God’s approval is all you need.
God believes in you, even when others don’t. He sees your heart, your struggles, and your potential. Rejecting worldly validation and standing firm in His truth frees you to grow into who He created you to be.
“For the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.” – Proverbs 3:26
I stopped treating what I have as mine alone and started seeing everything I’m given as God’s gift to manage for His glory.
We are not owners but stewards of the gifts God has given us. This includes our bodies, time, finances, and relationships. When we live as faithful stewards, we align with God’s will and experience His blessings in profound ways.
Ask yourself: Am I using my resources to honor God? Am I prioritizing Him in my daily decisions? Living under this principle is not restrictive—it’s freeing.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17
I stopped comparing my journey to others and started embracing the unique purpose God has for my life.
Comparison steals our joy, drains our energy, and shifts our focus from God to others.
The truth is, you are uniquely created, called, and equipped for a purpose that no one else can fulfill. Lean into your identity in Christ, not the false narratives comparison whispers.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
I stopped allowing negative thoughts to control me and started renewing my mind daily with God’s Word.
The smallest place to live is in your own head. Your thoughts can either draw you closer to God or pull you further away from Him.
The enemy loves to attack our minds, but we have the power to renew them through God’s Word. Be intentional about what you consume, think, and believe. Guard your mind—it’s the foundation of your faith journey.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2
I stopped rushing ahead of God’s plans and started trusting His perfect timing, showing up in faith every day.
God’s plans are always better than ours, even when we can’t see it in the moment.
Choosing faith over fear and trusting His perfect timing requires surrender. Keep showing up, even when it’s hard. God is never late, and He is always faithful.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
