Protein is an essential macronutrient that many people underestimate when trying to lose weight. It’s not just about building muscle—though that’s important too—but also about keeping your metabolism active and your hunger in check.

Let’s dive into the science of blood sugar and how it impacts your weight. Three key hormones—insulin, leptin, and ghrelin—play significant roles in your hunger, satiety, and fat storage.

  • Insulin: When you eat carbohydrates, your body breaks them down into glucose, which enters your bloodstream. Insulin is the hormone that helps shuttle glucose into your cells for energy. Trust in His process, both in your spiritual life and in your health journey.

The key to lasting change, both in your health and your spiritual life, is consistency. This means making daily choices that align with your values and your goals. When you focus on consistency rather than perfection, you’ll find that change comes more naturally.

By making gradual improvements, you allow your body to adapt without triggering the survival mechanisms that lead to weight gain. Consistency in Christ is the foundation of all transformation. When we seek Him first, as Matthew 6:33 encourages, we align our desires with His will. This doesn’t mean the journey will be easy, but it does mean that we will have the strength, wisdom, and guidance to persevere. Let your faith be the anchor that keeps you steady, even when the world pulls you in different directions.
