Don’t you want more peace? Have you ever really felt peace? I’m talking about the peace that only Jesus brings, not the I feel relaxed after a massage of peace. I’m talking about peace right in the middle of the craziness of your day, a peace that makes you find rest for your soul.
Our peace affects our health in so many ways that it is vital that we stay in peace.
This is why the enemy wants your peace. He's after your health: Mind, Body, and Soul!
Today I’m going to help you get this kind of peace! God wants His daughters equipped, so I’m giving you a Strong. Confident. His. plan for peace that works!
My prayer is that after you listen to this, you will fully enjoy the peace of God in all circumstances and begin to spot and stop taking the bait of Satan that rob us of our peace. This powerful message will teach you to identify peace-stealing thoughts, triggers, and learn what God says about peace so you can experience true peace.
I highly recommend getting out your BIble and a journal and writing down these scriptures and points to refer to when your peace is tested. Let’s dive in!
Did you know Jesus is called the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus is our true source of peace.
“He paid for our peace, but He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
This is why the devil wants your peace. He works to set you up to get upset, but God in His goodness sent us the Holy Spirit so we can experience peace.
Galatians 5:22-23 tells us, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”
Peace is a gift that we have that has been bought and paid for by Jesus, but we often aren’t living in it, right? It’s like someone buying you a house, but you don't move into it! Let’s move in!
I want to be very honest with you and share that I’m speaking from experience. Peace is a struggle for me, and even as I put this blog together, things happened that I had to fight through to keep my peace.
When we feel uneasy, stressed, frustrated, or overwhelmed, our peace is under attack. I think we’ve all been putting up with our peace being stolen for far too long!
Think about what you’re thinking about, don’t just live without peace. Zero in on the thoughts that are stealing it. Put your hands on your head and pray the blood of Jesus over your thinking. Your mind is the battleground, and you can not win this battle without renewing your mind to His truth about you and your life.
Write down what thoughts are stealing your peace, and find out what God says about it so you can pray that scripture back to Him when the thinking resurfaces.
What steals your peace? When you give away your peace, you are powerless.
Let me explain.
Peace = Power
Flesh = Weakness
A good gut check is to notice that when you’re frustrated or overwhelmed, it’s because you’re doing it in your own strength. You’re trying to force an outcome and control it. We often get ahead of God or leave Him out. I am so guilty of wanting to force an outcome.
Do any of these peace stealers sound familiar? Running late, overcommitting your schedule, comparing yourself on social media, overindulging in food, skipping workouts, feeling you should be further along in your career or your fitness goals, feeling rejected and judged, feeling inadequate like you need to change to be loved accepted, a feeling of emptiness? What about not doing what you know you should be, or not having a clear conscience and when we use things to substitute God‘s peace like food distractions?
This phrase keeps coming to me, don’t get distracted; the devil wants us distracted, divided, defeated. Did you notice so many of the thoughts and triggers are distractions?
But God!
It’s God’s will that we have peace. There are 7 key areas of peace, and I’m going to share what the Word says about them,
Peace with God
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1
Justified by faith means that you have been made right with God because you made Jesus your savior. This isn’t something you can earn, it is a free gift. You just have to accept it.
Peace with yourself.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Your hands made me and formed me. Psalm 119:73
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Eph 2:10
Peace with others
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Romans 12:18
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11
Peace with your past
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Peace for the day
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Peace in the process
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:57 don’t live the rest of your life at war with yourself when Jesus already won the war He paid the ultimate price, press on and live in victory!
Peace for the future
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-8
Peace is not a feeling, it’s not an emotion, it is a gift. And Jesus is our Prince of Peace.
Dear God,
Thank you for paying the ultimate price to give us the gift of peace. We know now that peace is a gift from you. Peace is not a feeling, it’s not an emotion; it is a gift. Father, our peace is always being tested,
Help us spot the traps that steal our peace, and help us stop trying to force things, control things, and let us find true peace in our minds and hearts because we know that you are working all things for our good. When the tests come, help us remember that your peace isn’t a feeling. It’s a choice to come directly into your presence. And when it feels impossible, help us remember that we have peace because of the Holy Spirit residing in us.
Today I pray my sisters to sit in your presence and fully experience your peace where they need it today. Father, we thank you for this gift. Our eyes are open now to how the enemy tries to steal our peace, but you are the prince of peace and we are your grateful daughters.
We thank you and praise you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
