How To Intentionally Choose Faith Over Fear

With all that is going on in the world, you may be tempted to pause or even freeze. The enemy uses fear to keep us from chasing our dreams and growing closer to God. We must recognize that fear is a liar with the mission of robbing us of peace, joy, health, and even the pursuit of our dreams. 

As with all battles, we need to arm ourselves with the word of God and intentionally choose FAITH over fear!

Open your bibles with me or just close your eyes and listen to Isaiah 41:10, Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

God wants our complete reliance on Him.

Did you know fear not is in the bible, 365 times?  That’s a fear not for every day! 

So why did God mention this so much?

Fear paralyzes us.  

• Fear of what other people think
• Fear of the economy
• Fear of the unknown
• Fear of failure 

They all do one thing – keep us stuck in our head and from taking action.

But in God, we can do things even when we feel fear!

Locate your thoughts right now, are they fear-filled or faith-filled? I want you to think about this question…

What has fear stolen from you?

…health, career, sleep, peace?

Did you know? Fear is a thief and a liar, but Faith is a rock and a comforter!

In my life, God has shown that fear doesn’t mean you don’t do something, it means you do it with full confidence in Him.

I love Charles Stanley, he always says, “Are you listening? Say amen!” 

This is a time for that!

ACTION STEPS

Think about our question:

I have let fear steal my dream/goal to _______________, but in God, I’m doing it ______________ 

Pray with me...

Dear God,

Show us when we’re lost in fearful thoughts that are inconsistent with your Word. Let the gripping realization that we could miss out on your plan because we’re afraid of the unknown, what other people think, or failure, motivate us to step out in faith and go for it. 

You said, “Fear not for I am with you.” Lord, be with us today. Strengthen us, help us, and uphold us according to your Word. In you, we can walk in Holy Spirit boldness and do it anyway, even when we’re afraid.  

In Jesus’ name, amen.
