Listen to THIS When You Want To Quit: 3 Step Power Thought Game Plan

Press play above or read the blog version below.

This is your go-to message for when you want to give up and quit! Don’t do it, don’t let the enemy win!

If you ever:

  • Start thinking, I’ve been working so hard, but I’m not seeing any results. What's the point?
  • Jump on social media and you see people who have the success you’ve been praying for and working on and it makes you compare yourself and feel small.
  • Question if it’s even God’s plan for you and you feel hopeless.

The enemy sure comes at us with degrading lies, doesn't he?

We all need what I’m going to share today…

This is real talk. Like straight from a note I keep on my iPhone! One night when I started to think these negative thoughts for no reason, the Holy Spirit quickly pointed it out and caught me before I spent days here.

I grabbed my phone and voice texted this to read when this negative soundtrack starts.

Friend, this is your go-to message, save it somewhere, because I’m sharing the very thing I need to tell myself and it works to get your mindset back on track up from going down the rabbit holes and out of the gloom and doom funk!

My sisters in Christ, if you’ve ever feel tempted, you’re not alone, and guess what we’re being lied to!  Satan even tempted Jesus!

And Jesus spoke to the lies with Scriptures: “one does not live on bread alone …;” “you shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test …” and “The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.” In the end, Jesus dismisses the devil saying: “Get away, Satan!” and he leaves.

Jesus’ temptation in the desert represents the victory that is coming.

If the devil tempted Jesus, he’s going to go after us – you better believe it!

We need to take authority, in HIS name, over our thoughts or shall I say the thoughts the enemy wants us to get into thinking.

Because if we listen, if we let the devil get us into a conversation, if we turn inward and feel defeated, if we call our friends and tell them how down and depressed we are that we just can’t reach our goals ...

He gets a foothold, and he wins.

A thought turns into a life friends, we need to catch those thoughts right away.

I’m feisty today!

I’m tired of the lies

I’m sick of the cloud of gloom and doom

No, the devil doesn't win

We all know who does in the end, GOD!

We need to the truth of God in our fitness, food struggles, and body image badly.

3 Step Power Thought Game Plan

1.Take Every Thought Captive

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  – 2 Corinthians 10:5

Begin to recognize the repeated thoughts you have that are not good or godly!  Paul urges us to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ". Confront these defeating thoughts. Turn them over to God and become who He sees you can be. It will take work to take your thoughts captive each time they pop into your mind. But it is possible with the help of the Holy Spirit.

I love how Joyce Meyer says "when you get these thoughts to pluck them out of your mind like a weed and plant some godly truth there!" Can I get an Amen?!

When you hear a lie going through your mind, say out loud:

Satan, you are a liar. I will not receive (or believe) your lie in the Name of Jesus. – 1 Corinthians 10:5

I remind you that it is written, ‘He that is within me is greater than he that is in the world.' I command you to bow your knee to the Name of Jesus and leave me. – 1 John 4:4

2Cast All Your Cares

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. – 1 Peter 5:7-9

God cares about what concerns you.

So we need to give these cares to Him and then trust that He’s working on it.

This doesn’t mean we don’t do anything, it means we act in belief and on guard against the devil.

  • God knows you’re trying to lose weight.
  • He knows you’re trying to eat healthier.
  • He knows you need money.
  • He knows your heart.
  • He knows exactly where you hurt.

He sees it all. Tell Him how you feel, tell Him how you’re frustrated, and trust Him with it – but NEVER quit!

3. Consider It All Joy

I’ve had moments when life has felt so unfair, and this scripture has been my go-to, it may be go-to through tears, but it’s my go-to.

Profiting from Trials

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. – James 1:2-7

Our challenge is to count it all joy!

We need to see God in the trial, the defeat, and the storm. He might’ve even allowed the storm.  It’s just we choose to focus on the current issue, like the wind, or the darkness, but He wants us to walk on the water like Peter. He wants us to get out of the boat and act in FAITH!

Let patience have its perfect work, tough stuff right there, but it will train you to preserve when you think you can’t.

So the next time you face these crafty thoughts from the enemy, you’re just wronged and it makes no sense, or face a trial that makes your knees buckle and your thoughts start to cave, read this, and then read it again.

I think it’s important to physically act too, so have you ever read about girding up your loins in the Bible?

Gird up your loins means to prepare yourself for action.

This expression comes from Proverbs 31:17... back then they would take the traditional long robe and tuck it into a girdle (that is, a belt) so it wouldn't get in the way of physical activity.

This is powerful and I want you to experience that power.

Think about your power thought plan, take your thoughts captive, cast your cares, and count it all joy.

Girding up your loins is where the rubber meets the road this is where you do battle because you take action.

We are Proverbs 31 women, so we need to be strong in spirit and strong physically.

We need to be willing to do the work.

Think about this woman in Proverbs 31:17 that has girded up her loins.

Picture her. Her hair will be out of place. Her dress is a mess, it’s tucked in her belt and she’s getting after it. She will be dirty. She will be sweaty. She is loved by God and she is praised because she fears not the enemy but the Lord.

When these defeated, doom, and gloom thoughts creep in we need to gird ourselves up and act!

Walk around your house today, go in your war room, speak the word of God all over you, your life, your family your goals because we have authority in Christ.

Prayer

Dear God,

We pause at this moment and take a deep breath. We inhale your peace and exhale the stress as we speak the name above all names... Jesus!

Help us take our thoughts captive from the onset, show us immediately that those thoughts are not of you.

Lord, we cast our cares on you and by your power, we will consider it all joy when we face trials.

We will gird ourselves up to act and say no to the trickery and the craftiness of the enemy.  According to your word, we submit to you, resist the enemy so He will flee.

My sisters are a fierce group of women who don’t want to settle for less in life and we certainly don’t want to live beating ourselves up allowing the enemy to get us trapped in thinking thoughts that are evil lies meant for our destruction.

The trials we’re facing are hard, but according to your all-powerful WORD we will push through without doubting.

Let us walk in victory taking every thought captive, casting our cares, and counting it all joy!

I rebuke the enemy’s plan over my sisters and trust that no weapon formed against will prosper.

In Jesus' name, amen!

Faith fuel

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And their righteousness is from Me,”

Says the Lord.

– Isaiah 54:17

The WORD of God will sustain you where the world fails you.

Now you know I’m never going to leave you without asking you to get into action because nothing happened without it!

I want you to Power Up and take action!
