Have you ever thought, "How do I combine my faith with my fitness?"

I sure did, so I wanted to give you a list of things that you can do today to invite God on your fitness journey! These are simple tips for every workout that are going to change everything for you! Let’s dive in!

Between Grace and Grit

Do you know what grit means? It means an indomitable spirit. It means that you are impossible to defeat. You never give up. So fitness with Jesus is in between that grace and grit. We're determined to never give up. But we do friends, we quit on bad days. Give yourself grace! When we combine grace with grit, we're a force to be reckoned with!

Women who love Jesus who are trying to get fit, we have a whole power source that the world doesn't have, not to mention grace. They're gonna give you power for your workout, motivation, and even grace that only God can give you.

Stand on the Promises of God

We've been fooled. The world has taught us to do fitness and eating and our body image without God. I know how frustrating it is. I know how it just feels like you're doing everything and you're not seeing any results and my heart is so with you. But remember you have grit and grace and stay in the fight!

I want you to stand on the promises of God and take your temple back today.

Colossians 2:8-15: “be where lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead body, and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power?”

Whoa, let me unpack this. There are so many truths in the scripture that apply to our journey to work out God's way. Notice how it says walk in him. This is to trust Him and rely on him, not our ability.

We're warned in the Scripture not to allow people to cheat us through philosophy and empty deceit, which makes me think of how deceptive the fitness industry can be. If you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you're complete right now. That means regardless of where you are on your spectrum of fitness, you're enough in him, you can have what he says you can have, and you are who he says you are so good.

Dedicate Your Workouts

Dedicate your workout to God!

God, this workout I'm dedicating this to you, I don't maybe feel like doing it, but it is to bring you honor and glory in my body to keep me healthy and fit to do what you've called me to do.

If you feel like quitting, and your push-ups, pull-ups, planks, or you hike, or moves that feel hard, ask God to be your strength and have complete grace for yourself that your best in him is good enough because it is alright. Ask the Holy Spirit to check your heart’s motives as you work out! What are your heart motives? Are you training for huge glutes and tiny waist? Or are you training for Kingdom purposes?

Push Yourself to be Your Best for Him

Push yourself to be your best for him. Don't think he doesn't care. God honors hard work when it's done for His glory, not your hot body, right? Focus on the internal changes that are going on and thank God for them. Thank God for your lower cholesterol! Thank God for your better blood pressure. Thank God for your lower blood sugar. Thank God for your better sleep and your less achy joints.

Listen to Music That Praises Him

During your workout, listen to music that brings God praise! It will motivate you, keep you going, and remind you of that grace & grit that is within you!

Here is my Spotify playlist! It has so many awesome songs that will get your flesh and your spirit man hyped up!

In conclusion, I want you to think about the Scripture Ephesians 6:10 tells us, “be strong in the Lord. Draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him and in the power of His boundless might.”

Before you leave, let’s pray together!

Dear God, we've been fooled by the world. We've been taught we can do fitness apart from you and many of us have learned that anything we do without you doesn't work. We keep coming back to this same defeated place of thinking we failed, but it's the world that has failed us, you will never fail us. Today we stand on the life-changing truth of who you are and how you love us. We invite you into our minds hearts and bodies. We give you our fitness goals that you may be glorified in our bodies, strip away the vanity from our fitness, and help us go deeper to the truth that anything worthwhile takes work, or health is worth that work. Help us stop wanting something for nothing is all or nothing. Instead, be with us. Every morning as we dedicate our fitness to you, help us dedicate them all to further help us see ourselves through your eyes and make our fitness goals way beyond the foolishness of achieving a body part. Help my sisters know also that they are more than any number on the scale or the size in their clothes or the body parts there they feel desperate to change give them peace right now with that fill their hearts with a fresh hope and peace Father. There is unspeakable joy when we rest and do life with you and in you and through you.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
