Have you ever noticed there’s this “something” that happens and when it does it instantly makes you turn inward, feel small, and takes away your power?
I call them confidence, happiness, and identity thieves.
As a Christian fitness and life coach, these top the list:
Today, we flip the script and put an end to less than because we were made for more, here’s how:
Galatians 5:1 tells us:
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of bondage.
In Christ, you have been set free and set apart.
So what or who is your confidence, happiness, or identity thief?
I’m going to share mine. It was dieting.
Have you heard this:
Diets won’t fix your eating issues, they created them.
There is so much truth in those words. That annoying number on the scale used to have control over my confidence and my mood. I feel for the quick fixes, tried all the snake oil, and came up with nothing but emotional pain and frustration.
Recognizing that we can’t give anything more power than Jesus is a great way to immediately do a gut check.
So the next time that “something” makes you want to compare, feel less than, or feel insecure remember that is not of God. He’s called you to live free, stay in your lane, and live your best life for Him.
What we give power to has power over us…
We need to stop giving our energy away to things that suck the life out of our purpose! Amen!
God’s voice needs to be the loudest.
There’s a happy ending to this story because God breaks the chains, and He takes the things that break us, and he builds something beautiful out of them. You just have to give yourself permission to set yourself free. How does God use Broken Things? “God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.” –Vance Havner. I’m going to pray for us… Dear God, You see the things that break us down and make us live in bondage to them, they make us feel small, and rob us of our power. Your word says that we have been bought with a price, that price was your life, so let us stand in awe and not take that lightly, we are free in you. When this revelation fades, and the day to day life overshadows this moment, give us a swift gut check. Don’t let us fall for the lies anymore, Lord. Remind us we are set free, set apart, and powerful! Thank you, Father, for loving us so much. In Jesus' name, amen. Faith Fuel: I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. — Ephesians 1:18-19 Lysa Teurkheurst said this and I thought it was perfect for today:
