How to Control Your Emotions in a Christ-Centered Way
The Science Behind Your Feelings
Breaking Free from Perfectionism & People-Pleasing
Dear God,
Break the stronghold that my emotions have over me. When anxiety, frustration, or self-doubt try to take control, remind me that my feelings do not define me—You do. In You, I don’t have to be ruled by fear, perfectionism, or the need for approval, because my worth is already secure in Christ.
Help me to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Your truth. Teach me to respond in faith instead of reacting in fear, to walk in Your peace instead of being overwhelmed by emotions. You have given me a sound mind, and I trust You to renew it daily.
I am not the sum of my emotions or circumstances—I am a whole, masterful work of Christ. In You, I have strength, confidence, and the ability to stand firm no matter what I feel. Your Word is my anchor, and I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Loved this episode?
Emotions can feel overwhelming when we react out of fear, stress, or past experiences instead of responding in faith. As Christian women, we are called to renew our minds (Romans 12:2), which means replacing negative thought patterns with God’s truth. This episode will help you understand the science behind emotions and how to manage them biblically.
Yes! God created our minds to be transformed by His Word (2 Corinthians 10:5), and neuroscience shows us how thought patterns shape our emotions. Learning how your brain works can help you break free from perfectionism, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. In this episode, Alicia Michelle explains how faith and neuroscience work together to bring lasting emotional healing.
If you struggle with feeling like you need to earn approval or do everything perfectly, you’re not alone. The Bible teaches us that our worth isn’t in what we do but in who we are in Christ (Ephesians 2:10). This episode dives into how to break free from striving and step into Christ-centered confidence.
The Bible tells us that emotions are real but shouldn’t control us. Verses like Philippians 4:6-7 remind us to bring our worries to God, and Galatians 5:22-23 talks about the fruit of the Spirit, including self-control. This episode will help you apply these biblical truths in everyday life.
Christ-centered confidence means basing your identity on God’s truth, not emotions, circumstances, or what others think. It’s the difference between self-confidence (relying on yourself) and God-confidence (trusting in Him). If you’re ready to stop doubting and start standing firm in faith, this episode is for you!
Alicia Michelle has an incredible book called Emotional Confidence, which combines faith and neuroscience to help women break free from emotional struggles.
